Hi! it's me again, back from a long hiatus. Another school year has past. During these last few weeks, I've been thinking about my time here, and I don't feel like I've been taking advantage of the oppurtunities college offers. I feel like the two years that I could have been participating in stimulating extracurriculars were overlooked because of constant studying. Not anymore. I really want to do something exciting in my last two years. So, I've seriously been thinking about studying abroad...
in Japan. I think it would be THE coolest place to stay in. I'm so fascinated by the culture, the people, the music, the language...to get spend a few months there surrounded by it all. To actually BE there. It doesn't get much better than that. I'm even taking Japanese this fall, just in case. The downside to this is, of course, the money. I've calculated the costs, and it comes to somewhere around $4,000. It doesn't help either that my school's only association there is with the most pricey University there is. Yikes. And what's worse is that my parents won't help me with it. This, however, doesn't mean that they won't budge, since if I stay on a subject long enough, they'll usually cave. ;) I know that I'll probably manage paying for it all. That isn't really what worries me most. It's a BIG decision. Not one that should be taken lightly. I know I really do want the experience, but I'm quite hesitant knowing this is a country that is very far away. 24 hours away, all the way around the world, in fact. a place totally different from anything I've ever encountered. A place where the language, grammar, and spelling is totally different. A place where, if I get homesick, I won't be able to fly home. I'll be alone. That's pretty scary But, I'm still only thinking about it. I still have a few months until I have to come to a decision, and then If I do, I won't leave until March. If anyone has had any experiences overseas, it would help me sooo much if you would email me and let me know how it went!! Thanks so much :) By the way, on my quest to find new and interesting music, a friend of mine introduced me to Gackt, a japanese Rocker with incredible talent. this is quite possibly one of the best CDs i own at the moment... the vocals are AMAZING (as is usually the case with Gackt) and the instruments come together in perfect harmony. I highly reccomend him.
